Is it ever said as to why Dee Boot (Michael Tylo) left Elmira?
Elmira... next to Blue Duck she deserved to die.
Michael Tylo is credited for Lonesome Dove under HIS name but his name does not appear under Lonesome Dove.

The book doesn't actually say this in so many words, but the impression I got is that Dee was not in love with Elmira. Therefore, when he no longer needed her, or when she was no longer useful to him, he left.
