Lonesome Dove the miniseries.

I watch this movie at least once a week! Is anyone else addicted to this movie?

reply

I am addicted...but I don't have enough spare time for a weekly viewing! 😀

reply

I adore it -- but I don't have time to watch it that often! That's a lot of hours!!

reply

I'm addicted and could watch it over and over, but I only watch it a couple of times a year. Even though I own it, if I come across it on TV, I stop what I'm doing and am sucked into it. This is my "desert island" movie.

Try to watch a couple times a year. There is no better western out there.

If you give a mouse a cookie...it's gonna want a glass of milk.

reply

I taped it so I can watch it whenever
To watch all 4 episodes on one sitting requires a lazy Sunday night
I expect I shall watch it more than a couple if times a year
Great Western
Don't know how authentic but I don't care
It isn't a documentary after all

reply

I ONLY watch the original Epic.

Nothing made and no actor since even comes close to remotely recreating the characters established in the film.

There will never be another Woodrow Call unless Tommy Lee does it.
Voight should NEVER have even attempted it . . .

At the end of the movie, when
Call reminices on everyone that was gone ...and he walks back over that bridge HE IS the Lonesome Dove.
That was THE END.

Every similar thing they do tryin' to extend and capitalize on the saga, just seems cheezy, lame . . . bc it will never have the soul the original had . . .

... lol.

Sorry to wax poetic - I take this movie pretty seriously . .
