Can I have a cigarette?

"Oh I know I'm going to jail but more importantly I need a cigarette!"

Love the "lady" arrested for Domestic on her husband, "He did this to me and I'm going to jail! Can I have a cigarette first? A man hits a lady and the lady goes to jail! Honey grab my cigarettes for me."

Or even the suicidal woman holding a gun to ger head. The female officer tries to talkj her down, she dashes inside and the officers shoot her doiwn, with a bean-bag bullet! She lays on the floor bleeding a bit from the impact, but very much alive. "Why did you shoot me? Why? WHY? Can you get me a cigarette?"

I've never smoked, I've had plenty of friends who do and I know it's a habit worse to beat than crack apparently!

I smoke, but whenever I get arrested for three or four felonies I kind of forget about it. LOL

Do these morons really believe that they will be un-cuffed for a butt break?

I was arrested 40 yrs ago (minor charge) and thrown into the Orange, CA County Jail. I was there for over 3 days. They GAVE us free cigarettes in those days. Not a lot. 10 each per day.

All jails and most prisons are now smoke free.
No wonder they climb the walls.

I have seen, at the most, a non-violent and cooperating perp be told they could have a last butt, but it's a bit rare. Demanding it, begging while you're off to jail makes me think they take the jail thing pretty lightly. I know I wouldn't! I had to leave my house in an ambulance last week and all I copuld think of, my pets! Did you lock the house! Was anyone shady-looking walking down the street that saw me and might want to break in?!

My sis and Mom were there though.

Their entire lives are all about addiction. It has controlled them and destroyed them. At this stage in their miserable lives its all they have. Everything else is crap. Its all they know.

To me, that's a pretty sure sign than they've been to jail before & they know it's their last chance for a good while, at least until if/when they make bail.
