IMDb says the Newcomers were bred to be super strong and super intelligent slaves. I realize they're aliens, but the concept of being super intelligent AND willing to be a slave seems contradictory to me.
Anyone else have a problem with that?

There is a difference between high intelligence, especially when it's being used for technical tasks, and the strong willpower that would be needed to throw off their shackles. Of course, being routinely gassed on the ship doesn't help either.
