Jane Seymore
Jane Seymore Is much too pretty to place Wallis.
sharei thought she portrayed her very well, much better than Joely Richardson who gave a very bland performance i think.
shareHave you ever seen Edward & Mrs. Simpson? I think Simpson is supposed to be bland.
shareI don't get that impression reading about her. She seems to have had quite a strong personality.
shareOkay, now I understand what you were referring to by "bland."
It probably has much to do with the way she's written. The Wallis in the Richardson version doesn't get to use that side of her personality because it's not written in the script. For example, there's no Wallis slapping Edward's hands at table, complaining about the servants at Fort Belvidere, making fun of the Duchess of Kent, rubbing Connie's nose in it, etc.
The Jane Seymour Wallis (script and portrayal) seems too soft and gentle imo and not pushy or patrician enough.
