shareThe better question is WHY that song is used for the credits! Hardcore gory witchcraft/Satanism movie - shock ending - Leslie is pregnant with Satan's son! - cut to pretty, easy listening pop song. Huh? OK, the ending wouldn't have had much impact anyway, due to her acting ("My baby?") but there's still no excuse for this song (and the stupid freeze-frame) being used.
shareI think some of the lyrics of the song are referencing the witch character's plan. Something about wanting to see "you" reborn / born again.
And that song was NOT easy-listening. It was cold, icy, loud, shrill, overemotional, and haunting. What the fu ck did you expect anyway, Metallica?
"Carol, one word of advice: send Cindy to a special school"
Another version (meant to sound vintage) of the song is heard in the film that plays on the unplugged movie projector (I think that version is sung by Knef, it sounds like her voice).
shareThe audio on the old projector just sounds like a distorted version of the end music with extra piano notes dropped in to give it an older feel.
