Sequel to 'Witcharia' (1977)?????

Does anyone know if this is a sequel to the 1977 film Witcharia??? I heard that this is a dark version to the kiddie classic Hansel and Gretel. Maybe the house is not made out of sugar pops and gingerbread...

If you go to http://www.hysteria-lives.co.uk and look up "Ghost House", the review says that Witchery is a sequel to Ghost House. Not sure how they came up with that one. I've never seen Ghost House and it's been years since I have seen Witchery...

Thanks for the info. Maybe Witcharia (1977) is its own film!!!

Don't you mean Suspiria (1977)? If that's the case, than it's a totally stand-alone film.

The theater is like a faithful wife. The film is the great adventure, the costly, exacting mistress

Ghost house is creepy as hell!!!! it has this really creepy song and the killers are a dead girl and her creepy child-size clown, a gardner serial killer, and alot of other creepy stuff like ghosts and a haunted house

the acting in that movie is simply terrible by most, but everything else (especially the idea) is amazing. If they were to remake anything it should be the films with potential that never delivered, such as ghosthouse 1

anyways, I know this is a thread about ghosthouse 2 so Im curious, is it just as good as the first one for those that have seen it?

The connection between the two films is that both were Italian horror productions under the supervision of Joe D'amato that were filmed in Massachusetts in 1987 and 1988. The films are more logistically related than sharing common plot elements aside from being set in creepy old abandoned houses. The casts are primarily Americans but the production teams were Italians, with the exception of Laura Wendell in GHOSTHOUSE who is a popular name from Italian exploitation films. They were both more or less aimed at teen markets, with this one perhaps having a bit more of a grown-up flavor to it, including nudity and sexual situations.

I think they are both fine movies for what they are worth, I too prefer GHOSTHOUSE but WITCHCRAFT has some impressively tasteless stuff in it too. I think a lot of people get distracted by how David Hasslehoff and Linda Blair are both in the cast and disregard what the film has to offer. It has a certain quality to it that's very cheap & tacky, yet there are some memorable sequences and a mean spiritedness to the proceedings that is quite cruel.

yes i think it is suposed to be a sequel to the excellent unberto lenzis ghosthouse. i dont really know why because the two films dont tie in together.
i assume they wanted to start a chain of haunted house films. similar to the idea behind the also excellent halloween 3(no michael myers! different plot!)
