Dracula's poor son...

...got to try his fangs on a stone statue's neck !

I had a little tension with the director about that moment. I was uncomfortable with how broad the comedy was. I said, about biting the state's neck, "It feels a little cartoon-y." Anthony Hickox said, "Your whole performance has been a little cartoon-y." OUCH.

"Cry me a river, build a damn bridge, and make your way across."

Well, the crossing of lines from goofy 80's comedy to explicit splatter/gore to cute self-aware homage to rather daring depictions of s/m sexuality (the vampire scene sort of goes there too) is what makes this film so unique and interesting, I think. And if YOUR performance was "cartoony" (which is balderdash but oh well) what did the director say about Zach, and his friends, and the small person! "Stephan" was cool.
Nilbog! It's goblin spelled backwards! This is their kingdom!

Waxwork was one of my biggest disappointments. I first heard of it when I saw part of the vampire scene on Robert Englund's World of Horror. It looked very well done and incredibly atmospheric. When I finally saw the finished film, I couldn't believe how stupid the rest of the movie was. Parts of the vampire scene and the Marquis de Sade scene were great, but the rest of the movie sucked. I'm surprised that he didn't speed up the chase around the butcher's block and add the chase music from Benny Hill because that's about how serious the movie was.

Anthony Hickox has no idea how to mix comedy and horror. Or comedy and drama for that matter. Half of his movies look like they were lifted straight out of a three stooges routine.

In fact, the only AH movie I don't consider a train wreck is Full Eclipse, and I imagine that's only because HBO probably wouldn't let him dumb it down.
