What was the deal with the book the girl found in the attic?
shareI always wondered this as well. It was an odd scene randomly thrown in and it kind of took me out of the movie.

The book is some sort of magical book that Mark's grandfather found that is apparently about the Marquis de Sade. It was exhibiting some sort of hypnotic power over Sarah, enticing her to open it and look through its pages. I'm not sure what would've happened if Mark didn't call out to her though.
