I thought this was supposed to be a family film suitable for all?

I was re-watching this the other night and showed it to my Sister and my Mother, but I copped something that would not be good for young children to see during the scene when Mike is trapped in the collapsed building:

Cindy is standing with her Mother and telling her to have faith and pray that Mike is okay, but Cindy says to her Mother 'Oh Mom, sometimes I wish I still believed in Santa Claus'.

I was like OH... MY... GOD!!!!!!!!!! This is not good for children who still believe in Santa to see. This was an irresponsible error and I am surprised it has not caused some outrage from parents.

Did anyone else notice this scene?

Yesterday marked the 20th year that I watch A Very Brady Christmas with my family. My kids were 6, 5 and 1 when it first aired. All my kids believed in Santa until they were around 8 or 9 years old. My mentally handicapped son who is now 25 still believes in Santa. For my normal kids the scene you mention did not affect them in any way. Watch ANY Christmas movie that mentions Santa, even kids movies, and you'll have someone who doesn't believe in Santa in it.

Although I just hate a line like "I wish I still believed in Santa Claus", and believe that such lines should be omitted from all shows that kids will watch, the line never affected my kids negatively. They still believed in Santa and they have watched the show during their whole youth.

Maybe you're a bit too critical and overprotective of your children. You don't want them to grow up to be super-sensitive do you? They'll be miserable the rest of their lives if they do! This is a harsh world. They may as well get used to it or they'll never survive reality.

Oh get a life! What is wrong with you? If your children believe stupid things like that from something on TV then they're just that, stupid! I saw this as a kid and I still believed in Santa Claus and I've seen tons of other movies where they say Santa isn't real and guess what? I lived a very happy childhood, get over it.

Lets put a SMILE on that face!

Wow...now aren't you the little a-hole?

Why not just stop lying to your children?

In defense of Santa believers, I believed in Santa till I was 10 years old and my parents had a hard time convincing me he wasn't real. There is nothing wrong with believing in Santa. And it is NOT LYING! Believing in Santa is the most ENJOYABLE thing! My best Christmases were when I believed in Santa. And after that it was when at least one child in the family believed in Santa. Thankfully, in my family that has never happened. Santa is wonderful!

BTW the mall Santa is fake. My mom told me this when I was a kid. NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN SANTA! But he exists.

Don't believe me? Well, have you ever seen a million dollars? No? Well that doesn't mean it doesn't exist!

Wow.

Why not just stop being an idiot?

I agree, this issue would be avoided if parents stopped lying to their children year after year. I think that is horrible.

So, letting a child be a child and have some fun, some fantasy, while they are young is "horrible"? What do you think? That they should have the minds of adults at four years old?

Well I kind of thought the scene where Jan's husband starting disrobing her was a little out of character for a Brady show!

This wasn't "The Bunch" you grew up with. It blew my mind when Carol told Jan and Phillip something like "it's okay to be late for breakfast". She basically suggested they have a "quickie".
