Kill Me Please!

I liked the series, but this movie was awful. And before you say, "yeah but you watch it". I like stupid stuff like this where you can see actors all grown up. But when Mike was stuck in that building and Carol started singing (I think it was Oh Holy Nite) and then everyone joined in and suddenly Mike popped out of the building. I wanted to go under my bed and hide for a couple of years it was so embarrassing.

I don't know, I love it, and it was Carol singing O Come all ye Faithful, as per season one. This is my favorite Christmas movie of all time, but I respect your opinion. Anyways, just wanted to point out the correct song title.

Carol? Are you sure you're not talking about one of the Brady girls, like Marsha or Cindy?

yeahh I thought this movie was god-aweful and everything was wayyyyyyy too overdone (aka Marcia and Wally making out. It was retarded, the way the did it and everything.) The only real Brady in that family was Cindy. She only came to the psycho-family reunion to be polite. o_o;

I liked how they all just burst into song singing Christmas Carols at random points in the movie lol. And the whole building part was lame but funny. lol

Well not too many people agree with you because when it aired it was the highest rated Christmas Show of that season.

Ya right! You were right in front of that tv singing! lol

Yeah, that part where Carol starts singing (actually it was "O Come All Ye Faithful")makes me want to puke too. If you listen closely, Florence Henderson is really off-pitch too...it's a good thing everyone joins in.

I think Florence Henderson drank too much Wesson Oil!

I found the Bradys bursting out into song to be hilarious and a subtle nod to how The Bradys have a tangled musical background. haha And yes, it was cheezy to have them singing while Mike was trapped, but even still it was the Brady thing to do I guess.

Florence Henderson is certainly a competant singer, I think the best song I've heard her sing was Looking Through the Eyes of Love during Bobby's wedding.

I agree. Overall, I liked the movie. But, I could of done without seeing that cheesy scene, it was too schmaltzy and blah.

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

The movie really was awful. The biggest problem is that is was written by series creator Sherwood Schwartz, who only wrote two episodes of the original series ("The Honeymoon" and "Kelly's Kids") - two of the weakest. The series in general was never as corny as the movie was. They should have let some of the regular Brady writers do it.

"...The series in general was never as corny as the movie was."

So true. All those godawful impromptu sing-alongs were just embarrassing to all involved and undoubtedly to many of the viewers as well.

reply

This movie is so cringe-inducing it defies description.

reply

Oh god, this move is awful! But it's so bad that it's hilarious. There are so many ridiculous moments that it's hard to imagine anyone making this movie with serious intentions.

But yeah, the big finale definitely take the cake for one of the hokiest Christmas scenes ever. It's so unbelievably corny you can't help but enjoy it.
