COUSIN OLIVER

How come cousin Oliver (Robbie Rist) wasn't in this, for that matter, in any Brady-whatever.

Because Oliver was just staying a short while with the Bradys.

Besides, have you seen Robbie Rist lately? He's fat with a scraggly beard and has been playing in some rock band...his looks are no longer "camera friendly" these days.

reply

That's for sure.

So? Cindy wasn't the real Cindy. He could have been played by Ted McGinley. He could just show up uninvited, violently drunk, hauled away by the cops... the whole sequence edited out to become myth... AWESOME.

I`m sorry for my lack of manners, but I`m not used to escorting men.

There was an Brady-themed episode of The Weakest Link game show a few years ago that included Cousin Oliver. It was a little surprising because the show had 8 contestants, so it was Florence Henderson, the six "kids", but Robbie Rist instead of Ann B. Davis.

OF COURSE, you can guess who was the first person voted off, by all of the other seven, haha. When the host asked him why he thought he was getting dumped so quickly and positively, he replied something to the effect of "The show was on the air for 5 years, I was there for 5 weeks!"

That was the first and only reunion type thing that I've seen include Robbie Rist.

There was a tiny mention of Oliver in the 2nd movie. Tiger the dog ran out of the yard, and a blond kid with glasses ran after him. Bobby said, "Cousin Oliver, wait!", and then we heard the sound of a car's brakes and a crash.

I have a new philosophy. I'm only going to dread one day at a time.

He was a jinx!

reply

Because he ran away with Chuck Cunningham of Happy Days.

Robbie Rist as Cousin Oliver was on only six episodes in season five. He never got a square during the opening credits. He wasn't worthy. Then the show was cancelled. He really was a jinx.

When a family with a lot of adult children with spouses and their own children get together they sometimes don't have room for cousins.
