"Mom! I'm goin' In!!"

Funniest scene.

reply

The whole scene was ridiculous. Why were all the workers there anyway on Christmas Day? Double overtime, I would think. Not very cost effective when the head cheese was trying to save money. Also, Mike Brady, some white-collar architect, goes in to examine why the structure collapsed and try to save the guards? And the police and construction crew just stand there and let him?

I think the funniest part of that scene is how singing "O Come All Ye Faithful" magically rescues Mike.

Yeah, I let a lot of the silly stuff in this movie slide, but this was the silliest 

By all means, let the LOUSY architect who designed that LOUSY building figure it out.
Gee, Mike, haven't you done enough?

reply

I agree that the whole scene is ridiculous (and hilarious). From the improbability of the situation overall, to the spontaneous carolling rescuing Mike. But for me the thing that always sealed it was that it just so happened to take place on 34th street, which the reporter pointst out..."looks like there's been another miracle on 34th street!" For no other reason than to use that line and insert just that much more schmaltz, I assume.

Bwahaha - just watched that moment in that scene and this describes it beautifully.

~~~You're not even interesting enough to make me sick~~~
I'm not even sure they would call the family for a construction accident either.
