Stupidest Brady Line Ever!

The stupidest line ever uttered by any Brady on any of the incarnations has to be the one that Greg says to Cindy when the family all arrives from the airport. I don't recall the exact words, but it was something like "You've grown up. No more pigtails," and Cindy looks at him like he's a dork and says "Greg, I haven't worn pigtails in 20 years."

If I were Barry Williams I'd be really embarrased about that line! I can't think of a more stupid line ever uttered.

reply

Yeah, I thought it was pretty lame. Especially since it was supposed to be funny. It wasn't.

reply

LOL......when Greg did that line, Cindy should've looked at him and said, "That might be because you have me confused for Susan Olsen. I'm not Cindy; I'm Jennifer Runyon. I've never worn pigtails."

reply

lmao GrangeDevil

reply

yeah, there was more too: you've gotten so...tall. then cindy says you're a doctor you know growth is a natural process.

here's the one i thought was stupid too: when greg's wife nora says "christmas together is a tradition in my family" as though it is so unusual and original for a family to spend christmas together.

reply

I agree! She acted like they have the patent on spending Christmas with your family.

It was a rather tongue-n-cheek line I do believe referring to the actress not being the real Cindy. I wouldn't take anything said in one of these fun reunion movies to heart, they're not meant to be taken completely seriously. Take it for what it is and enjoy it I say.

reply

No one cares what you say.

reply

"Don't be sorry, just be Wally" was a pretty awful line.

reply

That line about "no more pig tails" sounds even more stupid when you think about it. When the Brady Bunch was on the air prime time, Cindy stopped wearing pigtails and braids altogether towards the end of the fifth season. She wore her hair down long, but curled, sort of like Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz" after she's "cleaned up" in the Emerald City. Greg was still living at home at the time. Then, in the Brady Bride movie (as well as the Brady variety show), she was wearing her hair in a contemporary style (i.e., no pig tails).

reply

The OP actually quoted Greg wrong. He says, "You changed your hair. No more curls." Then, Cindy replies, "Greg, I haven't worn curls for 12 years." So really, since she was 24, she was saying that she hadn't worn her hair curled since she was 12, which was how old she was when the original Brady Bunch was cancelled.

And wow, I am a dork for knowing all of that...

reply

I thought that was a weak inside joke that Jennifer Runyon had replaced Susan Olsen as Cindy.

reply

He couldn't say what he really should have said, which is "Gee, Cindy, you've hotted up since you got older".
