Soothing movie
I totally agree with the review about this movie.
Mother tender love. Father's hard work. Grandma's being around silently. Little shy buddy. Little girl's wish and fearlessness. Young girl's emotion and strongness to take care of family. All around by nature and human life. The roads appear so many times in this movie. Everything and Totoro, which brings joy, growth, rescue...and only the pure-hearted girls can see. Even it might be a dream only.
Everything and everyone is together in one. You are alone in the universe but others are just like you, experiencing whatever you are experiencing.
At one moment, I see the oldest grandma welcoming and helping new neighbor; Father travels far with children to see their mother; Big daugher prepare food for father and for litte sister who only needs a lunch box because she wants it. Small hesitation of jumping onto Totoro's belly to fly high, I was so worried that the young sister won't jump....because that's jumping onto your purest wish. And the little one has absolute no problem with that.
When the small one said "no" to the news that mother won't be able to come home at weekend, and the sister said "Do you want our mother to travel far to die, you stupid?" "...NO!" and small one just tried and tried to make a cry. That's the moment that I felt .."God this is great movie! And where is the napkin"
