8/10. Here's why:

TONARI NO TOTORO is one of those movies that simply get to your heart. Most family movies try to do that, but not all of them have characters as loveable as these or scenes that make you feel like a kid again. My only complain would be the last part. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that the climax doesn’t feature any real risk. When it ended, it felt like I had just seen a TV pilot instead of a movie.

Any thoughts?

I'm always in tears by the end. the Mother dies.
I know I had a similar experience. My Mother asked me to look after my little sister before she died. I was overwhelmed. (45 YEARS AGO) The boy had lost his father. ( the hat was a tribute) thats why he was smiling after he gave the girls his Umbrella. He knew his Dad would be proud of him. grandmother had lost her son ?

Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.
