I agree with the OP.
There's something about Kurt as Nick. He never looked better in a film.
He's slick, sexy, confident, ironic, loaded with macho attitude, still on the young side so looking fresh and handsome, had some of the best lines in movie delivered with cool relish..........and if we needed even more cool, he was dressed and groomed exquisitely to portray the GQ impression.
His character was a bit sleazey inside, so to have his outside be so polished was an interesting part of the character.
What lies beneath was betrayed by his appearance.
Which, in a way, was the theme of the film.
What Gibson looked like--drug dealer--was betrayed by being a really nice guy on the inside who had reformed himself and had worked hard to be a good person, after a poor set of earlier choices.
