Liev Schreiber

Just saw the Broadway version of this movie last night. Liev Schreiber starred as Barry, and he was phenomenal! If you're in the nyc area in the near future, you should definitly take the time to see the original play. Yes, there are differences from the movie, but that happens with any play to movie, or book to movie transformation.

Snape: No, you're speaking perfectly.

Couldn't agree more-- I haven't seen the movie, but I'm a fan of Schreiber's and the play got pretty good reviews (mostly Schreiber got rave reviews and the play got average reviews). So we saw the play and I loved it. I thought the play was very well written (from what I can tell it is somewhat of a mix between the 1987 version of the off-broadway play and this movie), and the supporting cast was pretty good, though it wouldn't be the same with Liev. The most dynamic part of the show was just listening to Barry's voice infiltrate the theatre-- amazingly done. I am going to see the movie now just to compare, but if you are in the NY area go-- you won't regret it!

I saw the Schreiber play last night at the Longacre in NYC. He was masterful. I never saw the movie which seems to have an ex-wife in the plot. She was not in the play.A very skinny Stephanie March (Law and Order SUV) plays his girl friend of sorts.

He did a great job in the play, my friend convinced me to see it, got me tickets, and the night before I went to see it the movie (which I didn't know existed) was on one of the HBO channels. I never watched the whole movie cause I didn't want to spoil the play, but the play was excellent.
