Heard this on november 3, 2006

On Howard stern's sirius station, he did a replay where he was talking to Sam Kinison(from 1980 something), and mentions that Oliver Stone contacted him about a new movie he was doing. At first he thought it was about giving him a role. He was told it was about a disc jockey. When he contacted Oliver stone about it, he wanted to have an actor listen to tapes of his show and come in and observe for research. Stern got mad about not being offered the role, and denied helping him. Obviously, the movie he was discussing (though not said) is TALK RADIO. Bogosian ended up studying Tom Lykis instead for the role but there is definitely a visual comparison between the role and Stern, and the show could be viewed as a less comical version of what Stern does.
