I gained nothing from this movie, (spoilers)
This move came on Encore today, so I watched it. I was intrigued because it was an Oliver Stone film with some notable actors. I wish I hadn't.
For most of the movie i watched with a kind of sick grin as this train wreck unfolded on screen. I did not understand the point of the movie. I guess one could try and say it was an exploration of the underbelly of society, an exploration of society's sick trends. But for me, I don't see a real knowledge gained from this disturbing movie. We all are aware that this kind of bigotry and filth permeates society, i don't see a need to publicize it and make it THE center of attention.
The dialogue at most times is offensive and disturbing. My girl friend who came in the room looked at the film in disgust whilst hearing the audio.
In the end, the movie left me feeling a bit depressed and somewhat upset. Not to mention it was pretty obvious he was going to get killed in the end. The tone of the movie sets that up from the get go. It would have surprised me more if he had lived. I would not recommend this movie.
