Hey you might remember me from the Music General board. But I decided to check out your profile and I see that you at least know of the film "Talk Radio". It's too bad you didn't like the film that well. I honestly think its Oliver Stone's best film. I know that might come as a surprise to you, but I thought the acting in this is pretty well done. Some of the details by the callers are a little strange and unusual. But I thought overall the story, and especially the ending, is amazing!
Since its based off a true story, you can see how realistic the ending is and what people thought of the main character. I have probably last seen it about a year ago already, but I remember the film being a great drama. But I respect your view of the film anyway.
I somewhat agree with the review. Rather than remaining as the blackly comedic drama it promised to be, it turned into some kind of psycological thriller that didn't really go anywhere other than conferring that the main character is a prick. And I thought his 'assassination' was a little OTT. Even if it was based on a true story, all of the ominous music and obvious clues felt more like Texas Chainsaw Massacre than, you know, a movie about a radio personality.
Now all I have to do is watch Howard Stern's Private Parts.
Limit of the Willing Suspension of Disbelief: directly proportional to its awesomeness.
