I just saw the movie, thought the same thing. Megadeth kicks ass.

It wasn't. Not that many people would have gotten the reference even back when the movie was new.

I agree, Megadeth was still in a really underrated stage when this movie was released, and their beginnings were during the Satanic Panic of the 80s so a lot of pearl-clutchers branded them as a "devil worshipping" band and kept a lot of kids away from good music. I remember two bands that had albums banned from a record store in this old country town I lived in back in the day - Public Enemy & Megadeth. Kent knew what was up, though!
