What is that symbol? '4'

I've also seen it on Ministry's "A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste" album, each song has a symbol, that one is next to "Test". I've also seen it as a webding.

I believe the symbol is actually for the planet Jupiter.

You can find more information out about it by visiting any astrological website with info on the deeper meaning of the symbols and what the planet represents.

I believe you're right, but why Jupiter? Is that based on fact, or just thrown in for effect?

The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.

thanks for the reply! I'm also curious about this having watched the film last night. But I get a 404 on that url.

It's a pseudo version of the alchemical symbol for Jupiter. I think it was just chosen for the sake of it looking somewhat like a pentagram or anarchy symbol?

There isn't much to tie Zeus(Jupiter) and the biblical Satan together.

Those working on the movie might just have used a symbol like this so that no "curious" watchers would think it a symbol of satan and perform rituals.

Thanks for the info, and sorry for the late reply. Were they really satanists or just witches into some paganism? Sure looked satanic and scary at the end!

I always thought they used the symbol because of the actions required to draw it- sharp lines (almost like a cutting motion across the page, then the last stroke over top of the inital lines to "bind". None of the other 9 numbers have this "binding" property implication, along with the sharp lines that symbolize cutting.
