I'm hiding from them, so let's park outside their house for 20 min

Ok, i am in the middle of this movie, and these people are so stupid. She's telling the guy how they are after her and she needs to evade them, so they are sitting outside the meeting place house chatting away for like 20 minutes. that just bothered me. I thought somebody was going to pop out and break the car window.

couldn't you just take a look at the house, and drive somewhere else to have your conversation?

I have to admit, for supposedly being a smart lawyer, he sure was an idiot at times in this movie.

And for playing right into the mother's stunt at his office.

I know, for a lawyer he wasn't all that smart at times.

If that wasn't bad enough, she told him they were going to be at the beach, gives him directions, and even told him the night they would be there. What does he do? Goes back to the house, gets in a fight with ninja witch, kicks in doors, and threatens two old witches to find out - Miranda is at the beach. She probably figured he was a lawyer, so smart enough to follow simple directions.

This is why it's important to finish a movie before making wild assumptions. Letting him know about the mansion was part of their plan to allow him to find out Miranda's whereabouts. And yes, I realize Miranda had already told him where she'd be, but the mansion location was a backup plan.

Having said that, the movie certainly went through a lot of unnecessary complexity to get him to a specific location at a specific time. Miranda could have simply called him to set a meet-up at the beach.
