i know these movies are just for fun and something to laugh at and all im a huge B movie fan. But out of all the 80's slasher movies arent the death seans in this series a bit more cheesey? I mean for not being a straight to video release?

Yeah the death scenes were a bit cheesy. But i'm not sure about the first but the 2nd and 3rd movies are actually straight to video releases. It confirms it in Pamela Springsteens IMDB biography.
