S.H.A.B. 2 P.T.& A.

Even though they were released in 1987 and 1988, I have found some similarities in the two movies. I know that I can not be the only one to put two and two together. I'm no rocket scientist...

For example: The race for the cab sequence between Neal (Martin) and Taxi Racer/Jake (Bacon), Neal's project/plans looked over by Kristie's (McGovern), father. Neal's interaction with Car Rental Agent/Lynn.
There are other things there as well.

It has been years since I have seen it, but it comes up in coversation every chance I get when discussing movies with customers. Oh, I work in a video store.

Don't forget the actual clip of S.H.A.B. being watched by Neal's wife.

Maybe because both films are by John Hughes?

they are actually, both She's Having a Baby and Planes, Trains, & Automobiles are written, produced, and directed by John Hughes (the master of '80s teen movies and comedy)

She's Having a Baby was actually supposed to be released BEFORE Planes Trains & Automobiles, so the TV line in PTA would have made more sense.

Mr. Mom is technically a sequel to She's Having a Baby, btw...

Not sure how you can say it's "technically a sequal". Mr. Mom came out in '83, and SHAB came out in '88. So how could Mr. Mom be a sequal if it came before?

reply

Just like how the Star Wars prequels came out over 20 years after the 4, 5 & 6th episodes, ya know?

Also, when Steve Martin's wife is waiting in bed you can head Kevin Bacon arguing with Liz McGovern on the TV. "And what if the shoe was on the other foot?" "I'd go barefoot!"
