i haven't seen this movie, but i was wondering, what are the circumstances in which like, ALL those famous people listed in the cast as playing themselves come into the movie. what is their function? is it like in "The Player" where the movie takes place in hollywood or what? anyways, obviously ive never seen the movie and i was just wondering. thanks.
shareI don't think there was a function to these cameos at the end of the movie per se. I just think John Hughes wanted a cute way to end the movie as the credits rolled...Hughes likes to keep the movie going after the end credits begin rolling, like in FERRIS BUELLER when he shows Rooney getting on the school bus and at the very end of the credits, you get that last little speech of Ferris' telling the audience that the movie is over and they can go home, which can only be seen if you sit through the entire closing credits sequence.
shareYes, I finally figured out why so many of the cast of Ferris Bueller was in the end of the movie coming up with baby names was because John Hughes did both flix. Also, I noticed that when Kristy is writing a check at the table just before she goes into labor, she dates it 1986, movie wasn't released until 88 and since Bueller was released in 86, they must have been filming fairly close together.
