This is John Hughes's most personal film - his Vertigo.

I found myself really liking this one - It's quiet, honest, upper middle-class but still accessible to everyone and it deals with big questions so creatively and honestly that I wish I had seen this before graduating high school.

My favourite scene is when Kevin Bacon is talking with his boss and he is telling him how he tried to write a novel like Bacon.

This is a mature film by a writer who could have been huge during the rise of indy films - if only Miramax was around several years earlier.

Um... Hughes was in fact pretty huge. One of the most successful filmmakers of his generation.

The OP said that the FILM could have been huge, not Hughes.

As clear as can be that the OP is saying John Hughes could've been huge. But as stated he WAS in fact huge.

I’ve always considered this Hughes’s most uneven film. It has some winning moments, but they’re too few and far between. I especially dislike the fantasy sequences.
