... I prefer Blue Jean Cop - It's much more interesting, and less of a 'cliche'... Beats me why they felt the need for an alternative title, anyway - it's not as if either is all that hard to 'theorise' through... (especially when one of them is explained during the film!!)

Oh please blue jean cop was a rubbish title because the BVC changed it from Shakedown to Blue jean cop. Blue jean cop was all cops wearing blue jeans but you did not see them the cops were wearing the jean hardly in the movie shakedown was better becasuse the cop shook down the Criminals. so click your heels 3 time and come back to kansas Dorothy. Most movies the United states makes are sometimes changed here in the UK becausse the BVC (British video commission) does not like the title for some reason If you look at the US titles and look at the same movies in the UK they are the same the BVC have cut them and make the movies shorter cos of Sex, action ETC!!!!!

I can see why Shakedown was used, but I feel Blue Jean Cop applies more to the movie.

Blue Jean Cop is definitely a more memorable title, whether it's more suited to the movie or not. For that reason, I think it would be better and help it to stand out more. Shakedown screams generic to me.
