What was the point of.....
When Jesus moves in over the garage...why did he need a shortwave radio?
shareI wondered that myself. I mean, He's the son of God...presumably He'd know everything!
But then, maybe not! We assume He does/will. Maybe He knows what will happen, but not the reaction of humans i.e. their responses to attacks etc.?
I honestly think it was a plot device to distract us from the fact of who He might be and also to justify why Abby goes so berserk on him later.

In the New Testament, Jesus is not omniscient, he doesn't know the exact day he will return, he has to ask who in the crowd touched him, etc. So when Jesus/Prochnow has a s/w radio, I thought it's because he needs to keep tabs on world events, to see how they are unfolding and to monitor local results of his seal-breaking.
