Was Demi actually pregnant when she made this??
I mean, I remember her body being heavily pregnant and her daughter was born in 1988 and this movie was made in 1988. Anyone know??

shareIndeed she was.
Quidquid Latinae dictum sit, altum viditur.
So that was actually her pregnant naked body in the bathtub, really??? Doesn't surprise me because didn't she post nude or something while she was pregnant... for some magazine??
shareI think that was actually with her second kid, in 1991... It was Vanity Fair anyway. Beautiful picture.

The release date of The Seventh Sign according to IMDB was April 1, 1988. Rumer's birthday is in August of 1988. There is no way Demi could have been heavily pregnant in the bathtub scene, IF she was pregnant at all during the filming of this movie. Remember, there is some lag between shooting the film, editing it, and releasing the film.
Also, if she was actually heavy with child in a movie in 1988, why would have there been a big deal about a photograph of her heavily pregnant in 1991, the date of the Vanity Fair cover? Been there, done that.
A prosthetic device was used for The Seventh Sign.
My question is...could the release date noted in IMDB be incorrect? I vividly remember seeing this movie in the theater in 1986. The birth scene created emotional wrecks of my friend and I as we exited the movie. She had given birth in January of 1986, and I had attended the wonderful, natural birth of her baby girl. I had my daughter in November of 1988 and I do not remember being pregnant myself when I saw The Seventh Sign. Furthermore, my friend had moved away by 1988 and we could not have been on a girl's night out that year.
MY BAD: The release date is correct and my memory is failing. I went to visit my friend in June of '88 and we must have seen the movie then. That would have made me about 3 months pregnant with my daughter (DOB 11/21/88) and prone to emotional outbursts; hence the uncontrollable crying as we left the theater.
So, I WAS pregnant and Demi was not.

I remember all the press for this film back in 1988 because I went to see it twice in its original theatrical run. The shooting of this film would have been early 1987 in order to get it out by its release date of April 1, 1988, which means Demi was NOT pregnant during the shooting for the film. That is unless it was the longest pregnancy in human history. I have several articles on Demi for the film and one from a magazine during the time. According to Moore and the director, Schultz, she wore a prosthetic belly for the film. The prosthetic was molded from a plaster cast taken from Demi Moore's own frame and made to fit. If you take a freeze frame of the scene where she removes her robe to take the bath, you can notice the faintest hint of a "seam" at the top of the thighs at the hip. The prosthetic was like a girdle Demi would wriggle into. But she was NOT pregnant at the time of the filming, however, she was pregnant by the time the press came for the film. I remember quite a few times her being asked if her instincts were right while she was filming. She said she felt they were. If you look at any of her press images for the film, she was definitely pregnant with Rumer.
