best practical joke ever...............
...........happened while I viewed this movie. I was stationed at Kadena AB, Okinawa. I went to see "The Serpant and the Rainbow" by myself. There wasn't that many people in the movies so it was creepy from the start. Unknown to me I had a friend sitting behind me. A pivotal scene was about to take place. Bill Pullman's character was being buried alive while drugged and for added effect since he couldn't move a tarantula was put in his coffin to keep him company. While the spider was being let out into the coffin at the same time my friend, who had previously seen the movie and was sitting behind me, she had her hand creeping over my shoulder at the same exact moment the spider was crawling in the casket. Needless to say I jumped about 10 feet out of my chair and shrieked. It was too funny. After I cussed for about a good 3 minutes and calmed down. We laughed. A very good laugh. One for the history books. But being a military policeman at the time practical jokes were just a part of the military way of life. Good memories.
