One of many good ideas they didn't use. If only the screenplay wasn't lazy and the budget short.

Did anyone see any "similarities" with the film Predator btw?

They were fugitives hiding from the military. Starting a giant fire would kind of attract a lot of attention, don't you think?

Yeah, but I'd also imagine that human pursuers are the last thing you should be worried about when you're being mercilessly hunted down by the sadistic soul-eating demonic strawmen zombies.

Anyway, that would have been an excellent conclusion to the slow and eerie build up to the final confrontation. Better than the "aim for the head" cop out. It is a likable movie but they could have handled that ending differently.

Aim for the head...? That's not what they did. They used different ammo. Burned them from the inside. That's why the shots that killed the scarecrows sound and look so different from the other bullets they fired.

And THAT is where babies come from.

Burn the field? Great idea! Then they could all burn themselves alive! Wait, no, that's a terrible idea. The house would have burned too, you know, being in the center of the field and all.

No, the only thing that could have saved them was listening to Jack. Bert was cut open! No insides! Filled with straw, blood, and money! Why is the idiot of the group the only one who sees that this should not be possible? Even he seemed to forget it after a while. Until his hand was being sawed off. That probably reminded him.

And THAT is where babies come from.
