I'm guessing the OP meant did she wish for Freddy NOT to come back, that's what I always thought she wished for.

I'd always thought it was weird how she refused to tell Dan what she'd wished for and then gave him a sly smile. It made her seem sinister. I think that's the impression that the OP had too.

More than wishing to get married, she, wanted to have a baby.
If you ask me, it fit and slid right in nicely with the next sequel or movie, in Dream Child.
