Drebin killed five innocent actors

They were doing 'Shakespeare in the Park' (the scene assassinating Julius Caesar) and Drebin still has his badge and is not in jail. Oh wait. It's a funny joke. I get it. I like funny jokes.

Yes. Well, when he sees 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, he shoots the bastards. That's *his* policy.

For a long time, while I thought this was funny as hell, I still didn't realize that it was a parody a scene in Dirty Harry.

Had I known, I probably would have laughed even harder.

Good ones!

Yeah I saw this before Dirty Harry and immediately recognized the line.

reply

I experienced exactly the same thing.

I thought the 5 innocent actor skit was funny itself for years, but it wasn't until 2/3 years back when I saw Dirty Harry for the first time, and only realized it was a parody of Dirty Callaghan himself.

reply

The joke is we are not supposed to know they are that until the Mayor mentions what the thing was.

reply

What's funny is did they not tell Drebin what he did the first time or did he just forget?
