The Age of Television...

Two things that come to mind during the 1960's...we saw the beatings and dogs and fire hoses on the news at supper time at my house in the Mid West...and it caused a lot of discussion at the table..there were some college kids from my home town that went to Mississippi that summer to help register the black voters...and it was scary...it brought a whole different world into to our homes...

The second one was the nightly news of the Viet Nam war...that had never been done before..and it was bloody and ugly...I remember when they used to show the caskets being brought back on airplanes and have a small service at the airports...then that was stopped by the government..
