You do realize that both organisations and people can do both good and bad things right?

I do, but do you realize that the point of this thread is that the movie only depicts the good and thus idealizes the organization?

America is meant to be a democracy,so people in 1960s-1970s were allowed to protest against the war but there were terrorists and subversives who needed to be watched don't you think?

What about the Black Panthers and the Weathermen?

They had to worry about the Soviet and Chinese influence on radical groups.

The anti war movement had a lot of genuine people but it subject to subversion from unrepresentative far left groups who willingly or not aided the aims of the Soviets and their North Vietnamese allies.

The anti vietnam war movement was sometimes dishonest or under informed about the reality of the war I think.

Many people still buy the "peasants in black pajamas" and NLF were not all communists myths.

In fact the NLF was a front for the Northern communists and the regular North Vietnamese forces were given huge military aid from the Chinese and the Soviet bloc.
