Why was the Pell house trashed out at the end?

Did I miss something? Did the FBI agents try to search for something, or did the KKK members retaliate with Mrs. Pell spilling the beans?

I had the same question in mind... So I hope someone answers this!! :)

I think it's when Clayton had beaten his wife up.

From what I gather, Frances McDormand says that enough people know what she did was right (talking to the FBI about the missing boys). I figured the "Clan" and their followers trashed her place to tell her she's not welcome. :)

It was an abandoned house. I mean regardless, most abandoned homes I've encountered have been looted and trashed, valuables stolen, etc.

I always figured that her husband & his friends trashed the house immediately after beating the crap out of the wife.
To teach her a lesson plus the husband had nothing to lose, she'd basically sealed his fate. He was furious.

Didn't he discover America?

You can think what you like.

Its clear someone wanted to teach her a lesson, it matters not who did that.

Maybe the husband threw a temper tantrum after Anderson humiliated him in the barber shop.

I choose to believe what I was programmed to believe
