Mrs. Pell Revealing the Secret-SPOILER

of the missing civil rights workers. Come on!

Deputy Pell: Honey, me and the boys just killed the three civil rights workers and buried them in an earthen dam on the Roberts farm!

Why would a deputy sheriff tell his wife what he and others did?

reply

Because people WERE OPENLY racist then.

It's not surprising. That's one thing this movie got right, as opposed to all the racism was closet movies.

The most surprising part for me was that she wasn't placed in a witness protection program right after her confession. Was were they thinking would happen?

He kinda figured she wouldn't say anything because she's very meek and is emotionally and violently dominated by him. I felt really bad for Mrs. Pell and still felt bad for her at the very end because you still kinda get the feeling that she's still in danger when she came back to her house being trashed.
