Why was this rated R?
Maybe I need to watch the film again, but I can't for the life of me think of how this got an R rating. Even for 1988 this had less violence than many TV cop shows. Was it just 'cos Bronson was in it?

shareI do agree but the beginning sequence where the family gets murdered is quite dark.

I agree, it would have to be because of the opening scenes.

Must be, no boobies, very little cursing. I thought this was a pretty weak Bronson/Thompson effort.

Agreed with the OP. I guess because the opening scene, i don´t remember another "R rating" kind of thing in this movie...
