so angela's character had to leave the house and move to that dive of an apartment yeah??

Why on earth did she not just sell the house so she could buy somewhere nice????!

Probably because the house (and all the stuff in it) had been acquired somewhat illegally. Earlier in the movie she had said something about how she wasn`t happy about the fact that all the nice things in their home had `fallen off the back of a truck` so I reckon the house wasn`t paid for by legitimate means either, so she wanted to get rid of it.

How did Connie get her hands on a gun? She was already at the airport, and wouldn't have been able to board a flight with a firearm. Yet she had one in her purse immediately after disembarking from the flight!

I always figured she picked one up somewhere between leaving the airport and arriving at the Hotel Suite. Plenty of places to pick one up lol.

I agree with shadowcreeper, and also because she did not want to depend on anything from the mob after the move, even if previously 'acquired'.

because she told her husband that all of their money has blood on it (or something to that effect) meaning she wanted out of the life and thought giving it all to charity was the best way to erase her past.
