shareI got some additional information about this release:
The extra scene from the Japanese version will be in the SPECIAL FEATURES and not incorporated back into the film. Those sequences were not intended to be used in the US release version and were only for Japanese TV. The version we are releasing is the uncut, original release version approved by the director.
It will be anamorphic widescreen. It'll be released towards the end of the year.

This is great news! I own the awful UK release from Synergy and it has a vhs like transfer and its cut to shreds. Furthermore, the packaging states that it has an audio commentary, but its not on the disc! I can't wait for a definitive dvd edition and hold Synapse in high regard with the fantastic catalogue of cult films they have released.

This is some really good news. I haven't seen this film in a long time and I couldn't find it on dvd for a reasonable price anywhere. I'm looking forward to getting this when it comes out. I'm so there!!
