I may be confused but I am convinced that there is an alternative ending, I remember watching MC on VHS when it came out, the ending featured a close up of Matt Cordells shoes minutes after we see his hand appear out of the water, he's in the Mayors office hiding behind a curtain and a scream can be heard then it fades to the end credits. Am I right or am I talking out of my arse?
shareThat's the version I just watched! The copy I viewed was the - now out of print - Paramount R4 edition.
shareThat's the ending I just saw. didn't make sense when I watched part 2 as it shows the part with the van going into the water, but not the bit with the mayor.
The extended version adds the credits for the actors playing the Mayor and his aide after the end credits have run, so this version must have been put together after the theatrical release, I guess.
