I mean James Cameron loves Rene Lenox's works, i mean both are Sci-fi/fantasy movies about unique planets and fighting against enemies, exotic creatures and that sort of thing.

He also borrowed from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (aka Warriors of the Wind), Dune along with the books and the 2 mini-series, Ferngully, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Willow, Last of the Mohicans, Broken Arrow (1950 Jimmy Stewart movie), Dances with Wolves, Star Wars, Star Trek movies/Shows, Heavy Metal the movie plus the adult comic magazine etc.

Not surprising since he had been successfully sued by Harlan Ellison for adapting ideas taken from The Demon With the Glass Hand for The Terminator.
Ellison now appears in the credits.
