Actually, you're correct on that part. He was also unemployed, drunk, and paranoid. He was afraid that she might leave for a photo shoot or a movie shoot and never come back. (It would explain about the fence with the gate that could be only opperated from inside the house.) Oh, and did I mention he threatened to kill her with a knife at her neck several times before he really killed her? Seriously, he was that brutal.
