The New DVD Cover.
It's disgraceful. All it is is a close-up of Littlefoot in front of a green background. Yes, Littlefoot is the main character, or rather the one we get to know the best, but in actuality, LBT is an ensamble piece, as there are five protagonists, each with their own personality: Petrie's the scaredy-cat, Cera's the bitch, Ducky is the playful and optimistic one, Spike is silent eater, and of course, Littlefoot is the level-headed, goal-oriented, unofficial leader of the pack.
The Land Before Time deserves a far more creative cover than that. What was wrong with the old cover art? Couldn't they just photocopy that onto the new one? Or better yet, just re-release it as is? Why would they change it?
No effort at all. This movie is well worth putting time and effort into creating good cover art. For example, the artwork on its IMDb page. THAT is good. Or the one on the early VHS copies...even better. Why is cover art so LAZY these days? I know you don't judge a book by its cover, but having a decent cover will make you want to read the book, or watch the movie or whatever. What was Universal thinking?!
