No "random" black people were killed. Apparently you weren't interested enough to pay attention to the plot. The black man killed was the school janitor. One of the women whose son had been murdered by the Cliffside killer was sure the black man was responsible for the deaths so she killed him when he was freed from prison.
shareI felt bad that there was no closing scene of the town recuperating or even an epilogue to match the prologue where the grown up kid could talk about what happened after.
I was hoping the poor janitor would get some kind of recognition for what wrongfully happened to him. Oh well. That's the 1960s!
