really scary

Saw this when i was about 10 years old and it scared the crap out of me. I'm now 30 so it's been a while but i remember the scene where the boy was trapped in the store room/closet and saw the ghost of the girl. I was alone in my bedroom and it was late at night and i very nearly shat myself! Pretty sure i had some sleeping issues for a while after. I'm over it now though :)

I saw it at about age 10 too and I scared me to death! That little girl floating and twisting in the air!!!

Actually remember watching the making of it on maybe HBO or something. It was cool to see how they did it but the scene still frightened me.

As an adult I still find it creepy. I've always believed and seen spirits. We had a little girl in our home for awhile. Late at night when alone in the house I'd remember this movie and the song would play in my mind creeping me out. Lol

This movie horrified me when I was a kid as well. The girl writhing in the air as some invisible person murders her in the coat closet was one of the scariest images ever. I re-watched the film a couple of years ago and actually found it hard to watch, not because it scared me, but because the special effects seemed so dated now. This usually doesn't bother me when watching older movies, but there was something about them that distracted me.

I can't believe most of the posters here watched this movie as kids. This is not even close to being a kids movie.

A lot of people I grew up with saw this movie and more as kids. I dont see a problem with it.

I hear ya all! I saw this in theaters with my parents when I was like 9 years old. A lot of kids at the time saw it...maybe the trailer didn't seem scary at the time? Or everyone loved Lukas Haas and Katherine Helmond so much at the time they didn't seem scary???

Caught this on HBO when I was young.
