How F#@king funny was that movie showing in the drive-in, i was just wondering if this was a real movie clip or was it made especially for Johnny Be Good? ( i think its gotta be fake myself) Who comes up with sung dialogue like " girl i saw your beaver flash, i'll never be the same " & " you gave me a soul kiss " Lmfao @ that.
I too have always wondered about that drive-in movie. I do not think it was "fake" and made just for the filming of JBG. The look of the film seems too genuine. It appears to be filmed in the mid to late '70s. My theory is that it is an awful student-produced film from that time period. Perhaps one of the people involved in the making of JBG thought the use of it would be kind of an inside joke to those "in the know." I especially liked the music used as well as the tap dancing on the bridge. Anybody have a definitive answer?
Not true. I can't think of another film that Robert Downey Jr. has been funnier in. He is absolutlely hilarious in this film. And Hall gets a bad rap. He was good as well. I remember the buzz was that Hall was miscast as this sought-after high school football player, but he stacked on some muscle, and he's genuinely funny in many scenes. Good rapport between he and Downey. Very underrated 80s comedy.
It's not funny at all, and I'm glad it was underrated besides the fact that this was Uma's first movie and she did alright. If anything you can say Robert Downsnydrome Jr. was incredibly horrible, and the dialogue between him and his "best friend" Anthony Michael Hall was ghastly.
