the song

Does anyone know the song that Mary Kelly is singing as she's walking to her apartment, just before she's killed? It's the same song everyone is singing in the previous scene in the bar.

I've always wanted to know what the song is, or even what some of the lyrics are. Unfortunately I could never tell when I watched my VHS copy, as the sound was bad. I was hoping I'd be able to tell on the DVD, but I still can't (maybe because it's a group of people singing the song in the bar, and then Mary Kelly singing quietly under her breath later on).

Anyway, the only lyrics I could even come close to determining on the DVD were the following:

"sweet (or swing?) for you life (or hand or land?)"

If anyone knows the song or a few of the lyrics, I would be most appreciative!

It was Sweet Violets as the poster above has said.....however the real Mary Kelly (if that was her real name!) was noted to have been singing "Only a Violet I plucked from mothers grave" whilst making her way home on the last night of her life.

A very uninteresting fact I'm sure you will agree.
